Cropping

CROPPING is the term to describe trimming away unnecessary or unwanted parts of your picture. Basically, it’s a form of visual editing.

Click on the Crop tool, a box will appear and you can click, hold, and drag the box over the desired area of your image. To make the area larger or smaller, click on one of the corner gripping squares and drag to resize. If you hold down the SHIFT key while you drag the box will stay proportional and you won’t end up with a long narrow picture.

You may also be able to crop to set sizes to match the paper size or print output that you want. When you are satisfied with the crop, either double click or click the accept box. Your picture will now be well composed and ready for printing. Or you might go on to apply other corrections.
