Colour and Tone

THESE are usually together on the same control box. You will have a slider that will change the Hue, or Colour. Moving the slider will change the overall colour values on the picture. If you have a portrait taken in the shade that is bluish, you could move the slider to provide some warmer colours in the picture. Or add some blue to a city scene to give a cold day effect.

Tone or Saturation will control the brightness of the colours. If you move the slider too far to the low end, the picture will become a grey scale image (black & white). You could then add some colour to make it look like a sepia-toned print.
